Standard Chartered appoints Winters as new CEO

The bank will be publishing the preliminary announcement of 2014 results on March 4

Standard Chartered has appointed Bill Winters group chief executive, replacing the group's current CEO, Peter Sands. Winters was previously co-chief executive of JP Morgan and in his latest role he was CEO of Renshaw Bay, an asset manager.

Winters will be joining the group on May 1 and will be appointed to the board as group CEO in June. He will be based in London.

From 2004 to 2009, Winters was co-CEO of JP Morgan Investment Bank, which he joined as a trainee in 1983. He left JP Morgan in 2009
