DTCC threatens lawsuit over CME SDR plan

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) may take legal action to prevent CME Group from introducing a new rule that would bundle clearing and reporting services at the Chicago exchange – a move the DTCC argues is anticompetitive.

The proposal to introduce a new clause to the CME rule book – known as Rule 1001 – was filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) at the end of last year, and would require CME's clearing house to direct cleared trades to its own swap data
