For the new breed of multibank foreign exchange options platforms that have launched over the past two-and-a-half years, the uncertainty over the future of SurfacExchange might come as a reminder the options market isn't big enough to accommodate an infinite number of platforms. But participants say the challenge for most platforms is not the provision of liquidity, but rather a lack of demand from the buy side.
