ANZ wins three-month forecast with bullish euro view

media/download/18111The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) topped last week's three-month forecast chart with an optimistic view on the prospects for eurozone economies, despite consensus expectations that the euro would weaken against the dollar.

On January 10, 2014, the bank forecast EUR/USD would move from 1.3596 to 1.37. On March 31, the pair traded at 1.3758, despite the consensus view predicting the pair to trade at 1.3394.

Brian Martin, European strategist at ANZ, underlines
