Banks expand Asia research

Barclays Capital made three hires in Singapore and Hong Kong last week to extend its coverage of the region.

Sailesh Jha joins the bank in Singapore as director and senior regional economist, covering macroeconomic research on the Indian sub-continent and Indonesia. Jha previously worked at Credit Suisse in a similar role, covering South-east Asia and India. He replaces Sanjay Mathur, who has moved to the Royal Bank of Scotland as chief economist for emerging Asia.
