Ed Hulina, co-head of fixed-income, currencies and commodities (Ficc) distribution for the Americas at UBS, has left the bank to take time out of the industry before pursuing new opportunities, according to an internal memo seen by FX Week.

"Over the course of his career, Ed played a significant role in the development of our foreign exchange and Ficc businesses in Stamford, London and Chicago in a variety of roles across sales, trading and electronic commerce. On behalf of the firm, we would like to thank Ed for his exceptional contributions and leadership over the years," the bank said.

Hulina had been with UBS and its predecessor firms for 20 years, having joined the O'Connor business in Chicago as a graduate trainee in 1991. Before taking on his most recent role in 2009, he had been regional head of FX distribution for the Americas, and prior to that head of FX prime brokerage in London.

With Hulina's departure, Andrew Kleeger will assume his responsibilities as sole head of Ficc distribution in the Americas. Kleeger joined UBS in Hong Kong in April 2010 as co-head of Ficc sales for Asia excluding Japan and global co-head of Ficc emerging market sales. He joined the bank from Goldman Sachs.
