Two-way USD/RMB volatility forcing treasuries to act

Corporate treasurers are considering a more proactive approach to hedging Chinese renminbi exposures and some are poised to commit more resources to these strategies in response to the emergence of two-way volatility in the market.

The change in attitude comes after a sudden, painful spike in the renminbi's volatility at the start of the year, which was thought to have been caused by the People's Bank of China's (PBoC) aggressive action against long-only market positions.
