Societe Generale has closed its G-10 currency trading desk in London and relocated trading operations to Paris, as the bank reorganises its forex business and plans to build its agency FX presence together with Newedge, people familiar with the matter told FX Week.

The closure of the trading desk is part of a strategic rethink of the bank's FX operations, as difficult conditions and market structure changes have forced major currency players to adjust their models.
