Emerging markets (EM) currencies are set to remain in favour after the US Federal Reserve stuck to its guns and kept its communications on monetary conditions unchanged, despite fears some EM units could see big losses if the dollar rallies.

Market expectations ahead of the Fed's monthly rate-setting meeting pointed to renewed nervousness over possible tightening steps from the US central bank as the economy shows signs of revival, leading to concerns that EM currencies could experience huge
