BGC appoints Hirschhorn in New York

Trading technology head leaves BAML for new role

PE opportunities in the hands of hedge funds

Eric Hirschhorn, global head of rates and fixed income, currencies and commodity electronic trading technology at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), has left the bank to join interdealer broker BGC Partners as chief information officer.

Based in New York, Hirschhorn reports to Shaun Lynn, president of BGC, where he will be responsible for expanding the firm's technology offering in relation to e-trading, market data and software solutions.
