HSBC announces new group CEO

HSBC has announced the appointment of Andy Maguire as group chief operating officer and group general manager. Starting on December 1, he will replace Sean O'Sullivan, who is retiring in March 2015. O'Sullivan, who has worked at the bank for 34 years, will assist with the succession. Maguire joins from Boston Consulting Group, where he was managing partner for the UK and Ireland, and a member of the global executive committee. He had led the firm's relationship with
