Standard Bank turns to Africa as it strives to stake a claim in the fast growing region

Standard Bank has big regional ambitions. After winning the best bank for the South African rand for the second time, the bank is looking to establish itself as the premium market-maker and provider for African currencies.

Richard de Roos, the Johannesburg-based head of foreign exchange at Standard Bank, says one key priority is to roll out the business in 18 countries across the continent by the third quarter of 2015.
