Last look is not dead, says 360T's Kölzer

Frankfurt platform is latest to weigh in on debate ahead of FEMR report

Last look is a well-established trading protocol and it has a place in market-making if used correctly, says Carlo Kölzer, chief executive of foreign exchange trading platform 360T.

Rival platforms have recently tightened up the rules on last look, as it has come under regulatory and industry scrutiny, but instead of taking a rule-based approach to policing the practice, Kölzer emphasises transparency around response times and clear choices for both makers and takers.
