Kim Fournais, co-founder and chief executive of Saxo Bank, is turning 50 today (June 30).

He founded Midas – renamed Saxo in 2001– with capital of $78,000 in 1992. Three months after its launch he was joined by Lars Seier Christensen, a London-based stockbroker, who was an investor at first and then co-chief executive in 1995.
