North American FX volumes move up

Average daily volumes increase in the US and Canada, but there's some way to go before they hit 2014's numbers

The foreign exchange market in North America has seen a 10% increase in average daily volumes of over-the-counter instruments since October, according to a semi-annual survey by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Foreign Exchange Committee (FXC).

The $893.2 billion in ADV recorded in April was also 1% higher than the corresponding period of a year ago, shows the FXC's 24th Survey of North American Foreign Exchange Volume. Data includes spot, outright forwards, FX swaps and option
