BoE deputy governor Shafik to step down in February 2017

Minouche Shafik, deputy governor for markets and banking at the Bank of England, will leave the central bank at the end of February 2017 to become the director of the London School of Economics.

She was appointed in March 2014 as part of a major shake-up of the BoE's governing structure by the central bank's governor Mark Carney, and will leave her post two years into her five-year term.
