After three years at FX Week, this will be my final editor’s letter as I move on to pastures new, leaving the magazine in the capable hands of a new editor, Eva Szalay.
Looking back to where the industry was when I started in January 2011, things appeared to be fairly benign. The worst of the eurozone crisis, it seemed, was behind us; banks were lobbying hard for FX swaps and forwards to be exempt from regulation; and regulators mostly seemed to recognise that FX was different and less risky
