McDonald to head CFTC enforcement division

James McDonald has been appointed by Christopher Giancarlo, acting chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as the new head of the agency’s enforcement division.

McDonald will take up his post as director of the division on April 10, replacing Vince McGonagle, the current acting director.

McDonald joins from the Southern District of New York, where he has been an assistant US attorney since 2014. He currently serves in the public corruption unit and has taken part in
