Darryl White is due to replace current BMO chief executive as he retires after 10 years at the helm of the Canadian bank

Darryl White is to become the new chief executive of Bank of Montreal Financial Group after current CEO Bill Downe retires on October 31.

White has been the bank’s chief operating officer since 2016. In his two decades at the Canadian bank, he has held a number of senior roles, most recently as group head of BMO Capital Markets (2014–16), and previously as executive managing director and head of investment and corporate banking, and global head of equities.
