Jens Andersen has joined Standard Chartered as head of financial markets for the Americas and head of trading in New York, FX Week has learned.

Andersen began his new role in April.

He was most recently a managing director and global head of strategic trading at Morgan Stanley, and also head of foreign exchange emerging market Americas trading, as previously reported in FX Week.

Andersen joined Morgan Stanley in 1998 as a senior forwards trader in London, and was promoted to head of FX
