People boost: Matherne joins BNY Mellon and Vitale becomes COO for FX

Paul Matherne has joined Bank of New York Mellon as global head of foreign exchange forwards, FX Week has learned.

It is understood that London-based Matherne, who left Deutsche Bank at the end of 2016, is helping BNY Mellon to expand its FX swaps franchise into a broader, short-term interest rate trading (Stirt) business.

Since 2016, several FX prime brokerage staffers have migrated from Deutsche Bank to BNY Mellon, including Jason Vitale and Mike Cooper, who were previously co-head of listed
