Citing Need For "Operational Safeguards," Reuters Postpones Dealing 2000-2 Launch

Confirming widespread industry rumors, Reuters Holdings PLC last week announced the postponement of the launch of Dealing 2000-2, its order-matching system for the interbank foreign exchange market. The launch will be postponed by at least six months in order to "introduce additional operational safeguards and make other enhancements," the company says.

At the same time, the information service provider announced plans to shed 300 jobs, 200 of them from its U.K. operation. That news also
