El Salvador Ponders Dollarization Move
El Salvador is studying a plan to dollarize its economy, according to finance minister Jose Luis Trigueros on March 15. The comments follow Ecuador’s continued progress in pursuing dollarization while also receiving IMF support.
Trigueros said El Salvador meets a number of criteria for dollarization, including having a stable currency and solid economic fundamentals.
