Nomura loses two

LONDON – Nomura lost two members of its foreign exchange team last week, both of whom look set to join Natixis.

James Lamb and Steve Ware left Nomura last week to join the French bank, according to market sources. Lamb joined Nomura as head of FX sales for London in 2008, reporting locally to Bernd Broker, global head of emerging markets FX and FX derivatives. Ware joined as a senior FX salesperson in London at the same time, with the same reporting line.

Both joined Nomura from Bear Stearns in London, where they worked in hedge fund sales but left in 2008 when the bank merged its FX business with that of JP Morgan (FX Week, June 9, 2008).

The departures follow Nomura's recent hire in New York of John Valenti, who worked in FX sales at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (FX Week, December 7, 2009).

Nomura, Lamb and Ware all declined to comment.
