Jean-Baptiste Gaudemet, product manager at Sophis in Paris, said: "Usability is important to our customers. Sophis does not drive the technology around navigation and software, so our strategy is to be a partner of Microsoft. Our customers are familiar with Microsoft Excel; they want the type of navigation to be similar to Excel."

New features will include a screen tabbing function, which will replace drop-down lists. The system is in the beta-testing phase, in-house at Sophis. Nicola Hamilton
