Bank of Canada: unlikely to alter its floating exchange rate policy

The Bank of Canada is not looking to change its flexible exchange rate regime during the 2021 monetary policy framework review, deputy governor Lawrence Schembri said in a speech on June 17.

While the central bank is unlikely to alter its floating exchange rate policy, policy-makers must review even successful regimes regularly, he added.
