Argentine central bank restricts crypto asset purchases

Central bank continues with measures to resist peso’s decline by curbing digital assets

The Central Bank of Argentina has taken new measures to prevent members of the public using crypto assets as a means of payment, in a move that appears to be intended to close off a possible route for capital flight.

In a note published on October 31, the central bank warned that purchases of bitcoin (BTC) and other crypto assets using credit cards would be prohibited from November 1.
