Tokyo-based bitcoin operator bitFlyer has launched a US-based virtual currency exchange platform, following a substantial growth in volumes, with more than $100 billion in virtual currency traded since January.

With more than 30% of worldwide bitcoin exchange volumes currently facilitated through bitFlyer, the US-based expansion aims to open the door for US traders to connect to the firm’s Japanese exchange. BitFlyer USA is designed for professional traders who trade $100,000 or more in virtual
