BNP's 1991 Forex Earnings Up In Paris, London, N.Y.

Groupe Banque Nationale de Paris announced sharply higher consolidated net earnings for 1991, 3.422 billion French francs, up 58.6 percent from 2.157 billion francs in 1990. BNP S.A., the bank, also saw net profits rise steeply, from 9 million francs to 5.742 billion francs in 1991. Although, BNP, like other French banks, didn't break out income from foreign exchange trading activities specifically, Phillipe Gaston, a director within the bank's Division Financiere pronounced BNP "very satisfied"
