Year-to-date volume in French franc options on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) reached 941,697 contracts in May, up 35 percent from the volume the previous year at the same date. The PHLX has seen growth in all its currency options this year, say officials, with average daily volume growing to 54,222 contracts, up 9 percent from the 48,246 daily average recorded last year.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange had the second busiest day in its history June 4, as 1,267,722 contracts changed
