Tradition to Double New York FX Operation By 1st Quarter; New Currencies, Crosses Eyed

Tradition Berisford L.P., the Swiss-based money broker, is planning to double the size of its foreign exchange operation in New York by the first quarter of 1991, sources at the brokerage firm say. If Tradition proceeds with its plan it would increase its staff to about 50 brokers.

While many brokerage houses are reducing staff, Tradition is readying itself for expansion. "We’re in a good situation where our overhead is not that high," says Anthony Sagona, an executive vice president at the firm
