MAI Reports 10 Percent Profit Hike For Its Brokerage Subsidiaries

MAI Plc published its annual report last week showing a ten-percent growth in turnover and profits from its broking businesses, which include foreign exchange brokers Harlow Butler, Harlow Butler Ueda and Harlow Meyer Savage. Its pretax profit from its wholesale broking subsidiaries rose from £39.6 million in 1991 to £44 million this year, reflecting an increase in turnover from £235.7 million to £260.9 million over the period. MAI's fiscal year runs from June to June.
