Citi Overhauls Spot Trading In London In Preparation For Introduction Of Euro

LONDON--Citibank is overhauling its spot trading operation in London, replacing its two existing desks with a unified team covering six specific currency zones, says Richard Moore, FX manager in the UK.

Under the new structure, the old EMS and US dollar interbank currency desks will be replaced with a new focus on six areas: sterling, Swiss franc, Deutsche mark (euro), Scandi, Commonwealth currencies and the Japanese yen, explains Moore.

The reorganization reflects the bank's view that spot
