MAI Pares Down Currency Options While Considering Its Alternatives
BROKERS
U.K.-based MAI has scaled back the options broking desks of Harlow Meyer Savage in New York and Harlow Butler Ueda in London to a "skeleton crew," sources say. The options groups were apparently "not performing up to expectations" in London and New York, and so were wound down to a minimum while the brokerage considers its alternatives. Some sources predict this could be an agreement with an outside shop.
The New York desk has been pared down from 15 brokers to seven brokers. London has scaled
