Background: The USD has recovered against most major currencies over the past two months. However, it has hardly moved against some Asian currencies, most notably the Korean won (KRW) and Taiwan dollar (TWD). The Thai baht (THB) has been the exception to this ‘trend stemming’ by the other major Asians – figure 1 illustrates this point. But now we consider the USD to be in the process of forming a major peak on a trade-weighted basis, and it may be time to add to long Asia exposure. However
