Over the years, various approaches for predicting the fair price level of currencies have gained popularity with academics, however most of these theories have failed the test of time and data.

One theory still appears to have legs and might prove useful to investors interested in foreign exchange, and USD/CAD in particular: purchasing power parity (PPP). PPP states the forex rate is really a reflection of the two countries'
