Canadian Banks Report Annual Results Trading Gains Mixed At Top Six Banks

Canadian commercial banks reported 1991 earnings last week for the year ended October 31. Foreign exchange trading revenues were in line with overall results; decidedly mixed.

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) claim improved foreign exchange trading revenues for the year, but forex gains at Toronto Dominion Bank (TD) and National Bank of Canada (NBC) were down. Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and Bank of Montreal (BoM) reported essentially flat gains compared
