Crédit Suisse (CS) plans to start foreign exchange trading at its newly-licensed Shanghai branch which is permitted to carry out foreign currency transactions on a local basis, officials say. CS is the first Swiss bank to get branch status in Shanghai having operated as a representative office there since 1992. The new branch will be open in the first half of 1995 and is headed by Urs Buchmann. In addition to forex, the branch will handle documentary credits, export finance and support
