National Westminster, London Expands In Ecu, French Franc

National Westminster Bank is expanding its Ecu and French franc desks, says forex chief Ken de la Salle. With EMU coming, Ecu is increasingly important, he says. "Ecu has got to grow sometime," says De la Salle. He adds that NatWest's status in the Ecu market has improved and it now has enough business to justify an extra spot trader, bringing the desk to three. The bank also has a forward Ecu trader.
