R.P. Martin's Klesch Says Trading Systems Will Help, Rather Than Hinder Brokers

The chairman of R.P. Martin PLC, one of London's most prominent foreign exchange brokers, argues that computer trading systems will help brokers rather than threaten them.

In an interview with FX Week, Gary Klesch says that when markets are automated, it increases the depth of the market and reduces the need to employ expensive staff to handle "no brainer" trades.

He says that brokers won't miss standard, small-sized trades if they are done by computer. Conversely, the larger the trade becomes
