The Chicago Mercantile Exchange's short-dated currency option proposal will come up for review at the October 30 board of governors meeting, officials there say.
The Bank of Japan reported that dollar/yen turnover in Tokyo averaged $9.7 billion per day in the holiday-shortened week ended October 11. The activity was well ahead of that posted in the week ended October 4, when turnover averaged $8.8 billion a day, and sharply higher than turnover posted in September, when activity averaged $5.29
