Forex Gains Rise Forecast at U.S. Banks; Analysts See Slight Boost For Quarter

Foreign exchange trading and sales are likely to generate slightly higher profits for U.S. banks in the second quarter than the first quarter of 1994, according to market participants and analysts interviewed by FX Week. These sources cite a greater degree of trending in a number of currency markets during the second quarter as a reason for optimism, despite relatively low customer flows. They expect, nevertheless, lower figures than those reported for second-quarter 1993.
