Banks face bonus backlash

LONDON - Employment litigation will rise as bank employees contest the non-payment of bonuses, according to legal professionals.

"There are pressures on employers to challenge contractual bonus entitlements. I think there will be a lot more litigation in this area as some people who have done their jobs perfectly well will not be paid what they expected," said Lanny Silverstone of CKFT, a London-based law firm. He added that economic and government pressure is making banks less likely to pay
