Hong Kong firm to buy MNI in January

HONG KONG – Hong Kong financial information provider Xinhua Financial Network (XFN) is close to signing a deal to acquire Market News International (MNI), a New York-based financial news and data company specialising in FX and fixed income.

Under the terms of the deal, which should be completed by the end of January, XFN will add data from MNI, while the US vendor will include Asian information from XFN “transformed into the MNI style”, said Michael Connor, MNI’s chief executive officer.
