HSBC hires new NY forex chief

Welsh, who joins from Goldman Sachs in New York, replaces former head of FX, Alain Delelis, who will take on a new senior capacity in the FX group, though his new title is yet to be announced.

"HSBC is a premier provider of FX services globally, and the New York office has a lot of momentum currently," Welsh told FX Week. "I want to continue on the path that has already been established and to ensure that HSBC becomes a top three bank in the New York market-place for foreign exchange,"
