HSBC NY makes senior appointments in forex

Michael Zim joined in New York on January 22 in a newly-created position as head of FX derivatives, Americas. His appointment reflects the bank’s continued expansion of FX options globally, said a spokesperson, a move that began with the hire of Matt Desselberger as global head of currency options in London last year (FX Week, May 26, 2003).

Zim reports to Desselberger and to Ben Welsh, New York-based head of FX, North America. He previously worked in FX options at AIG Trading in New York.
