Asia FX specialists key to onshore expansion

"Optionality in the offshore markets has been around for many years, but onshore optionality is a little newer," John Flint, Hong Kong-based head of fixed-income and derivatives trading at HSBC, which is currently building up its options service in Asia, told FX Week. "There are lots of qualified options people sitting in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo, and fewer sitting in the domestic sites, but that's changing as people start to invest a bit more in the markets."
