European struggles may prove positive for the dollar

Italy -- the first country from the eurozone to publish second-quarter GDP figures -- last week released figures that show it has slipped into recession.

And analysts do not expect Germany's GDP figures or France's industrial production data -- due for release this week -- to fare any better.
