ANZ completes merger of spot and options trading

Last month the bank announced the hires of Fiona Clarke, responsible for the Asian funds business based in Melbourne, and Bianca Cook, for multi-national corporates in London, and said more hires would follow.

That follows cuts on the trading side, resulting from the integration of spot and options. Six positions of a total 14 were cut in London and two of five traders lost their jobs in Melbourne. Spot traders bore the brunt of the cuts, said Chris Cooper, global head of FX in Melbourne.
