Soros slates Europe and ECB

Speaking to Anthony Giddens, director of the London School of Economics (LSE), Soros said Europe's economy and economic leadership is in worse shape than the US and urged a change in the European Central Bank's (ECB) mandate.

"The ECB should be lowering interest rates much more aggressively than it has done," said Soros at the LSE-organised event. "The ECB drives with rear-view mirrors. The Federal Reserve is at least looking forward and tries to anticipate."
